’Leccy Problem

  The Jinx

Got few bulbs out and the guy that sold it me already bought the replacements but didnt fit them. If I get time tomorrow Ill do so but the blowers gone.

But also noticed that the glovebox and boot lights are out but when I checked the glovebox bulb it looked fine. What should I check out? Does anyone know whether any of these are on the same loom and whether that could be a problem?

Ive bought a multimeter to test the blower motor but looks like I may have to employ it elsewhere as well!

check the fuses first for your light problems.replied to your other post about your heater fan.

Right then. Had the blower out and it, the dropper resistor and the multiplug are all fine.

So I tested to see if there was a voltage at the multiplug and there wasnt. I then tested the continuity of the blower switch. No problem.

Tested between the switch and multiplug, and no problem. Then between the switch and the fusebox and again no problem.

Tested the fusebox to see if it had power and nothing. Basically there is a problem between the ignition barrel and fusebox. Only thought of this cos Id replaced the bulb in the heater dials and it didnt come on with the lights.

So anybody any ideas? Broken wire, bad earth? Apparently having spoken to the guy I bought it off it just stopped working. No bang no nothing. If no one has any ideas Ill just chuck it in to the garage as I couldnt work out the loom between the fusebox and barrel as there were shedloads of wires from the original alarm and the new alarm and other stuff.

have you pulled down the fuse box to look at the wiring going into the back of it.sounds like a wiring loom junction point probably has a fault in it.if i get chance ill look up a wiring diagram and tell you a few suggestions.

I couldnt get the screws out from behind the box. I could only get the lower ones out. My large hands wouldnt fit behind it! The Haynes manual diagram doesnt show much detail in terms of the actual physical routing so I didnt know where to look next.
