£415 for a replacement clutch?

How many hours labour have they quoted? Clutch kit for yours (Valeo, which is what you want), is £78 from Eurocarparts.
Not sure how much of a job they are to change on the non-sports though.

Did you try Automax? Nigel & Max are top guys. Tell them John with the Clio sent you. ;)

I had my clutch changed and a new heater blower motor for £420. Not sure about the blower motor but being on a subframe I've heard they are a pain.

Yeah that was at automax! 6 hours I think?

Do I definitely want the valeo kit? I was told the luk one was the oe spec? What's the difference? Sorry if I'm coming across as thick 😞

There is an OE offering from them, but there have been issues with slipping from some of their range.
Valeo is the choice for Renault Sports at least

Yeah Josh's dad did it. I posted really to give the OP an idea of roughly how much and the time it takes on the same car :tongueout:
Must be 6 hours including tea breaks oh well, it's not like I can drive it without a clutch pahaha, I'll just pretend I never had that £420..

Okay! Well I'll ring up and ask what the price will be with that fitted! Are they likely to do it with me supplying the clutch? Or will they order from there anyways?

Nige and Max have fitted my own supplied parts before, but best ring them to check first.

I'm not sure who the nearest Renault specialists are on here, and whether it's worth asking them for a quote too.

Right okay! Thanks!

That's mates rates obviously.

If you go to a garage then they'll have overheads to pay for so it will be dearer.

But a clutch isn't a specialist job like the Cambelt so any half about mechanic could do it.

Dont really have time to order the parts and find someone to fit them etc.. It's booked in on Monday for around £415 :( needs to be done though I guess :/

I would agree with that. I spoke to specialists who wanted a lot more than the £300 I got mine done for but was happy for the local geezer to do mine.
