Yeah that was at automax! 6 hours I think? How many hours labour have they quoted? Clutch kit for yours (Valeo, which is what you want), is £78 from Eurocarparts.
Not sure how much of a job they are to change on the non-sports though.
Did you try Automax? Nigel & Max are top guys. Tell them John with the Clio sent you.
Yeah that was at automax! 6 hours I think?
Was that your mates dad who does it at a discount though?I had my clutch done by a friend all in for £200, and took him no more than 4 hours. 1.2 16v 54 plate.
Yeah Josh's dad did it. I posted really to give the OP an idea of roughly how much and the time it takes on the same carWas that your mates dad who does it at a discount though?
There is an OE offering from them, but there have been issues with slipping from some of their range.Do I definitely want the valeo kit? I was told the luk one was the oe spec? What's the difference? Sorry if I'm coming across as thick 😞
Must be 6 hours including tea breaks oh well, it's not like I can drive it without a clutch pahaha, I'll just pretend I never had that £420..Yeah Josh's dad did it. I posted really to give the OP an idea of roughly how much and the time it takes on the same car :tongueout:
Okay! Well I'll ring up and ask what the price will be with that fitted! Are they likely to do it with me supplying the clutch? Or will they order from there anyways? There is an OE offering from them, but there have been issues with slipping from some of their range.
Valeo is the choice for Renault Sports at least
Nige and Max have fitted my own supplied parts before, but best ring them to check first.Okay! Well I'll ring up and ask what the price will be with that fitted! Are they likely to do it with me supplying the clutch? Or will they order from there anyways?
Right okay! Thanks!Nige and Max have fitted my own supplied parts before, but best ring them to check first.
I'm not sure who the nearest Renault specialists are on here, and whether it's worth asking them for a quote too.
That's mates rates obviously.
If you go to a garage then they'll have overheads to pay for so it will be dearer.
But a clutch isn't a specialist job like the Cambelt so any half about mechanic could do it.
