£908 for cambelt, Aux & dephaser !?!

Hiya , Just been to my local Renault garage (since they have all the required tools for the job) i have been quoted 908£ for the following work

New dephaser pulley,
Cambelt Kit
Aux belt Kit
New Water pump

the price of 908 includes labour and VAT ... is it me or does that quote seem on the expensive side ?

Is it worth paying the extra money or tracking down a cheaper garage ?

also , what have people paid in the past for the above work ?

Go to a specialist.

One of the traders on here will be considerably cheaper than that!

Unfortunately im based on the Isle of Man ( yeh sucks i know )

That's a fair few hundred quid more than the traders on here charge,
off the top of my head I think that lot would come to roughly £600-£650 at BTM or Diamond Motors.

Probably still cheaper to get the ferry across and drive to a specialist (and probably do a better job too).

i looked at a 182 and the receipt from renault for the same as that was 990.. car was up for 1100.. madness.

s**t that's dear, I'd go in and haggle hard. I really dont get on with Eurocars at all among other things they said my Trophy wasn't a genuine model!

There is a renault specialist on Pulrose Industrial estate, doubt they have the tools though sadly.
