0-60mph 172 in Parkers

Just flicking through the Parkers Website and it sais that the 0-60 time for a 172 is 7.9secs ...........this sounds wrong!!

If this is true then Valvers are quicker than 172s!!!

Has anyone got a more accurate 0-60mph time?

Mk 2 172 - 6.9s

172 CUP - 6.7s

Parkers is complete crap, dont bother looking. Autocar give the most accurate performance times.

the 172 engine needs to be broke in for best time. its possible if they tested a brand new one it could very well run 7.9. I believe that was a factor with Evo mags timimg of the MK1 + Mk2, one was run in, one was not. I may be wrong?!

i got a nice magazine review of the mk.1 172 doing 6.5, but mine can do it much quicker im sure

i have a copy of a mag (forget which one ill have to look) which timed a mk2 at 6.6
