1.2 16v - Full system or induction kit?

  1.red rubbish wagon
Got a 1.2 16v which will make any difference? Wud love a sport but due to insurance reasons . . . no can do. How can i make my life better?

Theres far more important things in life at your age than getting 0.5hp more out of your 1.2, see Daniels responce.

i would go with a full system mate. you wontr get much sound from an induction kit on the 1.2's.

Full system will be louder if thats what your after.

On a 1.2 the 1st thing i'd be going for is coilies tbh.

Nothing to the engine.

Subtle mods.
Anything you can take off with ease.

Put your 'engine' money towards insurance for when you can afford a bigger engine.

Keeping the engine standard and not played with surely will attract more buyers when you come to sell.
Well thats what im hoping for with my car.

Dont bother with any mate, the amount its going to cost, you will loose in re sale price anyway as your narrowing the market. If you really wont one of them perhaps the induction kit as you can take it off come sale time....
Personal id do what Paul said, just some subtle mods, spend it on colour coding and the likes.

get both. This IK's on the 1.2 16v work well with a proper CAF. If your not going to bother with 1 then i wouldnt bother as it'll loose you power. Can pick up K&N 1's or piperx for about £25 - 30 on here. Ive got my old "carbon look" K&N adaptor plate in the shed if wanted, just no filter

m8 i agree with the lot i got a 1.2 and have looked at many things and all it comes down to is....

you could go out and spend nearly £1500 on remaps, strait flow decat exhaust , induction kit, carbon bonnet, lowering springs and all the little nice things wheels ect ect. and you would gain a grand total of 12 - 15 bhp a very bumpy ride from the hardend suspention and an exhaust that is so loud all it dose is set car alarms off going past only for a 1.4 still to shoe and laff at you trying to get away from the lights faster than them

get ya no clam's up by doing the right thing and get something when you know you end going to be stung with the price

Pointless.

Replace it if it drops off. Unless that happens, i'd spend it on hookers and booze.

Cheap second hand pipercross open filter, Got mine for 25 quid. Wouldnt pay much more than 40.

Gives a bit of noise over 3k, Car feels a biy free'er when driving.

Save the rest for petrol and a sport.

Want more speed - lose weight. Don't go down the IK/full system route for gains. Leave the car as standard, imo. It's like investing short-term in the Stock Market - you'll be disappointed and wish you didn't!
