1.2 16v GearBox

Got my car back last friday... Tom you was right it is a different box... More chunky looks tougher dont it.... Did you think it was better though as in changing gear etc??

its sooo tight compared to the old box

can you read the part number on the top?

No I cant get my bonnet open.... I managed to to get my induction kit back on now it dont pop open. Once I manage it I will let you know. I thought it was a bit tight but it just needs running in me thinks... then some slick 50

yeah maybe this one wont blow up im being careful with it (no more than 3000rpm in first)

Really? sh*t im not.... I redlined it in 1st soon as I left renault... been doing it all weekend... You not meant to do that in first then?

no thats what is causing the housing to crack

Yeah but ive never cracked gearbox housing before.... Ive always driven the same... What would a 172 be like then if I had one probably end up snapping the chassie!

So the redlining in first is the cause?

Were you two redlining it most gears on the old boxes? Normally i change at 5000rpm in all gears, even when going for it, but this weekend i was in a particulary naughty mood and was changing at 6500rpm.

Got to 115mph on the new stretch of the A130 after the meet on Sat, 3 up with Climate on. Hi to whoevers Dynamique i blew away
