Hello,
My 1.2 16V has developed an annoying fault.
Sometimes, you turn the key and nothing fires, that is the engine turns but does not fire. After about 2-3 minutes of doing this, it does fire, starts, everythings happy again. Sometimes it just starts normally!
Now, I can't pin this down to any condition, i did use to think it did it only when cold out, but yesterday it was really warm and the same issue occured.
Its been serviced, and it still happens. The garage told me there was no error messages.
Its not the key, i used my spare which hardly gets used but it still gives same issuse.
Now I have read here that the ignition coil spings?? could be to blame, so these need replacing. Looking at the haynes manual this seems really simple, but the last sentance on refitting says "make sure all bolts are adjusted to the correct torque". What torque would this be? It makes no reference to taking off bolts in the first place (unless they mean the cover ones?)
Could it be the coils? how much is this part to buy off the shelf?
Any other ideas?
Ta
