1.2 16v Oil

Need to top up the oil in my Dynamique (51 plate), and I read on here that people were using 10W40, but just been to Halfrauds and it said 5W30, Fully Synth... Which one should I be using?

I use 10W40 as it says that in the owners manual

10w40, get the big one out of halfrauds and that'll do the job as well.

Ah well, used the 5w30 the book at Halfrauds said. Ill know where to go if my engine dies.

Why? Im sure they wouldnt endorse using it if it wasnt suitable...

I used 5w40 Fully. Running well.

These are the part no's for renault Fred gave me for the washer and filter, Where for my 53plate 1.2 16v, And all fitted fine.

Not sure if they are the same, Best to check..

it "might" be listed as an alternative, but i doubt it

It actually said that all the oils listed were manafacturer recommended... Obviously thats not the case though.
