1.2 8v 03 reg Sump Replacement

  French tin can
Hi all,

New around here, but not to french cars (have 2 citroen AX's and a 106)

My wife has a 1.2 8v 03 reg Clio. Pile of shite if you ask me - but then it is the base spec model!

Now the area around the sump plug is leaking oil out. The sump looks like it is actually corroding.

The garage where we took it for MOT back in August, attempted to repair it.

We did have front pads / discs, cam belt change and oil change done with them.
They said they can use some sealant around the area - but couldn't guarantee.

Ideally i know it needs a sump change.

Now my question is, can I remove the sump on a 1.2 8v engine without having to drop the sub frame?
The gearbox casing appears to cover some of the sump bolts - is this going to cause a problem?
Can I remove the sump with the engine and have enough room to clear the oil pump and still remove?

Any guides / advice on swapping the sump over?
Or even links to other threads - (Not done any searching yet!)

I am more familiar to the AX / 106 / Saxo TU engines its a case of just remove the sump with the engine in place.

Thanks

Jon
