1.2 better then 182....

.... in snow!!

As some of you may know, Edinburgh was pelted with a huge batch of snow over a couple of hours today and i just made it out of uni car park.

Got stuck going up various diiferent hills today and finaly found a flat way home...ish.

Was in stop-start traffic with a learner in front of me in snow and ice and he continuenly drove off no probs when i was left behind spinning and crapwalking every time!!!!

For some reason the standard clios are better then the 172/182 in snow....

Even with the TC off it was going nowhere compared to the 1.2

Is it to do with the width of tyres or something?

Made me look like an idiot.... and no, i wasnt my driving skill..lol

Fat tyres absolutely no use on snow, you want nice skinny wheels.

Yup... lightish vehicle and fat tyres means less pressure being applied to the road via the tyres.

Thanks guys... thought it may be the width of the wheels combined with the power... yeah...1.2 learner driver... seriously owned!!! lol

Tried 2nd too but wasnt having any of it... was ok once the gritters came out

apparently all the drivers fault, doing well over 70 in icey condtions in a cup ! madness but then again the problem with cups is Joesix pack who knows nothing about cars doesnt understand the delicacy that a cup needs treating with in cold conditions most probably dont even know it doesnt have any ABS or TC let alone its handling characteristics


EDIT: ohh and its true some really s**t cars can leave me miles behind in these conditions everyone looks like there driving fast in their thing wheeled 1.2 but in reality im having the be so careful in the cup just incase
