1.2 convertling to 172

Hi im new to this forum i have a mk2 clio i have recently baught a mk2 172 clio sport to convert the engine..im aware i have to use the engine wiring loom ecu etc etc but will i have to use the interior loom ? Any advice and tips would be great

Welcome mate

It is possible but a bit of a ball ache as you need to think about brake and suspension upgrades - have you taken into account the extra insurance it will cost?

With a decent 172 costing £1500 these days it would be much more cost effective to buy a 172 dude - is there a reason why you are wanting to do the conversion?

I only payed 450 for the 172 it had a little front end bash...parts aint a issue i have a complete car lol want to do the conversion cus its something different im quite good with mechanic side of things was just wondering what i would have to swap over electrical wise

Subscribed. I've done way to much to my 1.4 to put it back to standard and sell now so I've been half looking into slipping the 2.0 in. Keep us updated. I'd like to see how this goes

I would have though the interior loom would have been the same across the Mk.

thats what i thought...the only thing that would be different on the interior loom is the wires for the aircon unit everything else would be the same ? both the cars have got auto lights and wipers only differnce is the sport has power steering and my 1.2 has electric steering>>planning on having the motor out the sport by tommorow

you do need to swap the dash loom yes unless you want to keep the EPAS

i would like to keep the electric steering its just 1 less thing i would have to do i want to get it converted asap

keep your dash loom then, but you will have to wire it up seperatley

Engine is out but while i was taking it out i snapped the corner of the rocker cover where the lifting point is i have tried everywhere to get another rocker cover but no1 seems to have 1..can any1 help ?
