Just wondering, 1.2 8 / 16v drivers. Who has had the biggest scalp in terms of larger engined cars?? Would be interesting to see as i dont know how much slower we are to a lot of the other cars on the road.

Another question, mainly to 1.2 16v drivers. If you are booting it, what sort of revs do you let it go up to?? I dont hold it as much in first, but in the others i change at about 5500 - 6000, is that to high or low?
Id say 5200 is past it.. it starts going downhill after 5 I reckon?Quote: Originally posted by Friction on 08 March 2004

5200rpm is where the max power apparently is on the 1.2 8v, leaves u in the power band (if the 1.2 has one, and yes i am a 1.2 owner) for ur next gear aswell.
anyway, i kept up with a 1.6 astra sport (mk4) on straights, and round the twisties, and yes he was trying since he WAS my mate, and he was chasing a mate and i was chasing him (long story). Apparently he thinks i have major engine work done...hmmm, nope, lol
easily keeps up with a 1.6 16v golf aswell, up til about 50ish on the straights, beat it on the twisties![]()
Its lowered 100mm at the front and 110mm at the rear on coilovers, and handles pretty well!!!!!!!!!Quote: Originally posted by Ben_billabong on 08 March 2004
