A friend of mine has just rang, he has had problems starting his car. its his second runabout so its no big issue it being off the road but as he knows im a member on here he asked me to put up a post. basically everything has been checked over and is fine. the car will start if bumped or towed, so it must be generating spark. if you try to turn it over, the carb simply spits out fuel, almost like a back fire if the timing was off. cambelt has been done and timing checked by a mechanic. could it be something simple like a coil? any obvious things or common faults?
