1.2 TCE

Hey all this is my first post on this forum. i will be gettin a mk2 clio 1.2 Dynamique in the next month or so, when i find the right on.
i have been doing some research into the car and have come across something interesting.
The new mk3 clio's 1.2 turbo engine is based on the mk2 1.2 clio engine.
does this mean it wouldn't be to difficult to fit the turbo from the mk3 on to the mk2??

any thoughts??

1.6's dont have much torque 1.4's dont have much power and 1.2's are efficiant cos thay couldant pull the wool over your eyes:rasp:

as said the 1.6 isnt a torque monster and the 1.4 doesnt have much power!

the actual internals are slightly different, its not just the same engine with a turbo bolted on, but since it runs at a really low boost the d4f would be fine with it i would think.

not sure if its just a case of swaping the inlet manifold, turbo, you would probably want to fit a FMIC if you were doing it and planning to push the power up, all the boost pipes etc.

then it comes to engine management, it would probably be best and less hastle to go for a standalone management as i doubt your standard ecu would read boost (although not 100% sure) and dont know if you could use the TCE ecu without problems?

get a second hand 172 engine, would probably end up cheaper and would be more worth it!

if you dont actually have the car yet and want cheap insurance then tbh you would be better just buying a 1.4 16v or 1.6 16v! or a DCI 80
