1.6 16v performance boost...help?

I have a 1.6 16v clio, im after increased engine performance and have a budget of around £400. Whats the best options to go for to gain maximum results? remap and an induction kit? im not sure any help would be great

I wouldn't bother to be honest, You will see very small gains, Just save the money , If you must a remap is the best bet.

3 options.

Sell and buy a 172 for overall performance gain.

Better brakes and or suspension for improves driving experience.

Induction kit and exhaust to sound good.

insurance is a killer on the 172 for me, the car has been lowered 40mm all round, i will bear the in mind thanks

What's it lowered on?

Have you checked to see how much re mods will affect your premium?

Panel filter will be enough for induction, getting a kit will most likely reduce performance. Mine did on my 1.6. And your right insurance is a killer, im 18 and ive got 1 years no claims, insurance for a 1.6 is £1500, insurance for a 172 comes to just over £4000!
