1.6 making 195bhp?

  a low one
Just got a text off a mate telling me about a 1.6 clio making 195bhp in fastcar magazine, its white with orange wheels, I've not seen it myself so I know nothing more but has anyone heard of such power from a 1.6 before or even what has been done to acheive such figures?

I'm highly intruiged

sounds like the clio that performance french magazine reckoned had 220bhp from an air filter IIRC

that had orange wheels too

Fastcar is a crock - ironic titling considering half their features are of 1.2s with body kits. Buy PPC instead

On the subject of 1.6's. the new fiesta ST is a 1.6 Turbo, and thats gonna have 180bhp. 195 then isnt that much of a push or out of the realms of possibility.

Just look at the power produced by the VAG 1.4 twincharger lump.

had a browse on internet and as said the one in fast car is a 1.2 converted to 2.0l by Ktec, rs wings and bumpers, resprayed in white, with orange rotas and cage, stripped out.

If I am honest, looking at the pic on the cover of FastCar, it looks quite nice.

Civic EK9 Type R is a NA 1.6 and can make that power with a little fettling :boring:

As the conversation was about 1.6 NA I thought it was worth a mention.

I'm an ex Honda chap with Civic Type R, Accord Type R and S2000 among some of my favourite NA cars owned.

If only they still made some exciting cars :dapprove:

The K series S1600 engines make just about 220bhp at 8500rpm. Not impossible to get power out of a 1600 at all. The 1400's manage similar figures but at even higher RPM...
