1.8 16v ariel

ok heres the plan . . . ive got a 18 16v, as you proberly know it has a bloody huge ariel and i want one of those nice silver bee-sting ones. Now is it a case of just unscrew n pull or what? and is there chance of water getting in if the seal isnt tight??

my valver had a short ariel for some reason & it was standard.

yeh mine has a small ariel, maybe its a change from phase 1 to phase 2

mine was a phase2 M reg.

maybe you could lok for a short one off a ph2 valver, in a scrappy or something, and it should just screw in.

Phase2's had a shorter aerial than the Phase1 16v's..

They are interchangable.

Although I had a bee sting on my RT and ended up putting a standard ariel on.

Much prefer the standard ariel. You recieve radio better and it suits the car.

Have a ph. 2 Ariel on my valver!! It works fine, no problems with the radio!!

Hi,

Firstly the ariel has a rubber seal under ir, you access the bolt through the interior light area, remove the light and there is a 10mm nut, thats it really. How do i know this!!!!

Secondly could you tell me how much your car is lowered by front and rear and what size wheels and tyres as it look great? i have got some early 172 oz wheels for mine but am trying to decide how much to lower by, was thinking about 35-40mm all round.

Its lowered alot, have a look n see what you think.

The guy a bought it off said they were 17's, dont quote me tho.
