1.8 RSi MK1 Engine, How Strong?

Hi all, just wondering, how strong is the RSi engine compared the the similar 1.7 volvo turbo engine, i know the bottom ends are the same, were the heads strengthened to cope with the turbo, or could i bolt the turbo onto my engine?

Just a thought, another thing is would the head be easy enough to just swap over along with ecu's etc instead of whole lump?

what i mean is how modified is the volvo head compared to the renault ones as i am thinking of just adding the turbo to my clio from the volvo instead of an engine swap!!!

hummmm..... just found this, if Im right I think the guy was on about just changin the head off his RSi to that of a volvo turbo... this possable just to swap the head and ecu?
