1.8 to 2 ltr...16v to williams

  Trophy #473

Is it true all renault did to create the williams engine was use 1.9 diesel conrods and a set of forged pistons in the existing valver lump to take it up to 2 ltr. and it also has a lower redline to the valver because of the longer stroke?

  20VT Clio & 9-5 HOT

just about yeah, they used parts from the diesel etc, and also modified the head for the williams!

rev limit is 6400 which is a pain in the ass for me when im used to 7200. just about getting used to it tho

Doesnt bother me.. its the only thing which stops it pulling hard tho.. heh.

My other ECU I had, had no limit.. and it was scary..
