id be slightly worried tbh mate, 10 doesnt sound too promising, the reason could be anyones guess though, unless theres any obvious problems then it could be due to personal needs, want of another car, wasnt what they were expecting, insurance issues etc etc

there are no obvious reasons couple tiny marks few scuffs on wheels no spare wheel but other than that its sound drives well i know last owner had it a month sold it cos he was 6 n half ft tall looked like summat off donkey kong when drivin it i suppose time wil tell also only done 89 k thats nit too bad is it?
my fiesta rs turbo had 22 owners on the register and never let me down untill it got nicked a week later and was never found lol

I'm sure if it was anything THAT bad one of the previous 9 owners would have done something about it to fix it? And if it was really terrible then I'm sure it would be apparent. Did you HPI it?
Maybe people just dont want to hang onto it as its value dropped like a stone, and then loads of people wanted to snap it up for a bargain just to run for a few months (did you get it for a bargain?)

Yeah got a good deal straight swap it for a 97 golf vr6 and no i havent done a hpi
my 306 had 22 previous owners (1 before being my grandad), had it solid for 2 years before the head gasket went twice in 6 months causing it to be used in scrappage!

Yup thats true, if you want the real deal get a proper online one for £20 upwards, that ctc is just a basic one mate to see if its written off etc
If you now find out that it's been written off / doesn't exist .. what are you going to do ?! If you go to sell it, the 11 owners and HPI fail will put 99% of people off......
Just enjoy it, and learn to HPI cars in the future BEFORE you buy them haha !

I'd certainly be checking it, just to make sure it hasn't got outstanding finance on it. Last thing you want is a bayliff turning up at 6am in the morning trying to take it, if it is left on a public road they don't even need permission. You'll need to do the £20 hpi check though, not a text check.
But it's not unusual for a 172 to have had a fair few owners, my Cup has had 7 and has been pretty much trouble free for 8k in 5 months now.

You would always try to find one with less owners as it's more "desirable" when selling. But when I got my 182 this was the cleanest lowest mile example I could find. It had 6 owners. I Hsiang keep cars for about a year and the cars 7 years old so it's about right. As mentioned in the thread already you should hpi check ANY car you buy no matter how many owners it's had.
For an example I was the 3rd owner of my BMW Z3m roadster, glorious car wonderful to drive and in suck good condition. It was 9 years old and seemed great. Sold it 7months later after pouring £2k into it to fix it but it turned out it had been in a minor knock and the rear axle was bent. Also the roof had started to leak and the paint started flaking. Owners is a guide, but IMO means nothing. It's a small depreciating hatch that's fun, it's not a family or business fleet hack it will be bought and sold more than them.
Stop worrying, if you are that concerned pay the Aa to do one of their 120 point check things

No i didnt mate was to busy tryin to pick faults out on the car and didnt think to look
Give it a few months and your bank manager may give you a few clues as to why...!
