100% COTTON TOWELS TO REMOVE POLISH ETC

Is it safe to use 100% cotton bath and hand towels to remove polish after applying it.

As to say put SRP or EGP etc on with a yellow megiuars foam pad on wipe off with the towel.

As one of my mates does this with his car  and says its done his paint no harm (He takes labels of towels so it don't scratch paint) and the fibres in the towels easily take off polish etc and cheaper than buying microfibre towels.

I was gonna try it but thought i'd get peoples views on it before i do. ;)

Terry Towels are ok, they tend to lose there softness after a few washes. Meguiars still sell there own ones. I prefer MF's but did use terry towels a few years ago for a while.
