106/Saxo Shenanigans

Few of us lads local to South Wales organised a little get together today for a Brecon/Black Mountain run.

Started off at Ystradfellte falls near Swansea, then blasted through the valleys and headed for the Black Mountain roads.
Great turn out for a local meet, and the weather held off even though we were given rain, thunder and lightening!
We had a little misshap with one of the boys water pipes coming off the back of the engine, luckily I keep my trusty Tool box on me at all times, you never know with these cars! Quickly got sorted, and we were back on our way.

The White GTi and Blue S2 Rallye are both on itb's also.

Saving the day with some fresh water for the broken Rallye!

@roland rat made a funny on Facebook. 'Didn't realise that Lee Nelson drove a white GTI!' 😂

You don't want to.
It's painted with truck and bus material, so it's flatter than your nans tits. It's dyno'd at a ludicrous 168BHP, yet recently it was revealed that it only has Jenvey ITB's fitted, it doesn't have Catcam 743's as advertised. Then there's the fact that my bog standard (bar exhaust etc) VTS wiped the floor with it.

One of my mates in Bridgend, it's in lovely condition inside and out, and goes like hell fire!

I prefer the 106 looks and would've bought one, but they warrant silly money compared to a VTS.
100k+, low MOT, average condition 106's go for £1200 or the likes.
Picked mine up for £1100. 84k, £400 engine receipts, £600 suspension receipts, not a spot of rust, brand new axle etc etc!

I like these cars, and for the money a great buy. But at a tender age of 36 in a weeks time I do think is l'd look even more silly (not the right word but couldn't think of the right one) if I had one as my daily. Would like a blast round a track in a modified one, see what all the fuss is about

Awesome motors, love the blue rallye always fancied one before getting the Clio. Hard to find a decent one even then.

Hoping to do the A4069 (Black Mountain Pass) this weekend if the weathers alright as fancy a bit of a drive with a mate, so might call by Ystradfellte falls if it's close

Don't know if the roads any good but it's a day out I guess

Did see my mate on FB is keen to get his GTi out and go out with you when your next out!

It's not ages away, but not too close either, well worth it though.
