106MM CAF 172 CUP

I am trying to get a 106MM CAF Pipe from my lower grill to my espace V6 box,
but can't find a way up, anyone achieved this before?

I might just take the bumper off and find a route for it.

Tried down past the back of the headlight to the bottom of the bumper but cant get it to squeeze past the auto-leveller on the light. Broke one of these before dont want to do it again £50 IIRC.

Can anyone help?

Lol yeah she is great thanks just serviced her on 82k now, and on some tanks im getting 40+mpg which is amazing.
RE the CAF, I think the bumper is going to get taken off tomorrow and I will weave it down somehow, its just too big! Or I might relocate the battery to the boot but thats effort.... you got a beemer now?

Stick it into the upper grill to the left of the radiator. have a search for 'Quade' or 'markcup' cups

^^ yep, but that means removing the fuelrailguard.

Cheers guys, I have found a picture similar to that and wondered what was missing!^^^

The black plastic blanking that obviously stops the alternator from getting wet/sh*t up, is it best to remove this or cut a hole for my trumpet

i made up my own panel-thingy with a hole for the caf, indeed to stop the alternator getting wet. Also because i busted the original panel by trying my hardest to remove it

can you not face the caf hold down towards the gearbox and run the caf down there? Once the standard box is removed there should be loads of room.

you've got no chance getting that size to lower grill, 76mm is tight and I mean really tight and that was a bumper off job

Yup, bit more sensible for 30k a year, still get 35mpg out of it which isnt so bad!! My sensible head said buy another derv, but then 2.8 litres of smooth straight six appeared out of the blue, rude to say no tbh :approve:

You got a thread on it I see ..... looking V nice .... prefer your old car though! ;)

I fastened my ECU down flat.
My V6 box comes straight off the TB, i am running a 102mmID pipe down to the wheel well at the back of the engine bay. Minimal bends and shorter CAF pipe, reduced air friction at high rpms = better flow. I didn`t bother with forced induction setup, cold air is the most important factor. I have even thought possibly about just installing a reverse scoop above the airbox on the bonnet and taking direct cold air from outside.

sounds good.. ambient air from that place might even be better than the forced airintake.

depends on the severity of the crash, and if the engine still runs on impact i guess

it is'nt there for nothing. Protects fuel rail guard on impact

When in a serious crash i think you will want it there or you will die a horrible death
