its the killer decision time for me that every true clio head in there time goes throught. do i go full fat or cup or what other there is to go for? looking to get a 172 so was wondering what the different between models are, if you could post up pics of each inside and out i would be very gratful.

Not driving like a c**k saves you from crashing in the wet. No ABS is excuse No. 1 on the list for a cup driver who ran out of talent or used poor judgement and binned the car over winter.

I'd had the car a week, and locked the wheels up for 30 odd foot in the rain.
Getting used to the car was my excuse, had upgraded from a 1.2.

and if abs didnt help u under extreme braking it wouldnt be fitted to cars now would it?

Full Fat in my opinion mate... all the gadgets and pretty much the same performance. Un-noticable on the road i feel.

I dont think anyone is arguing that ABS is a useful safety feature BUT not having ABS shouldnt mean you end up barrell rolling 14 times into a ditch and ending up half way up a tree. Driving with inappropriate speed for your level of skill and or the road conditions does that

My 1st car was a Renault 5turbo and that b*****d didnt have ABS or PAS etc but i managed to go 2 & 1/2 years without crashing it.

Quite a few quick cars (quicker than Cups) have been made without ABS without being crashed as much as the Cup has been.

exactly, i've had 3 cars with no abs, and only one car with, doesn't bother me tbh, just think before the mid to ealy 90's only mercs etc came with it, what happened then lol?!

ABS i think was invented for people that panic and just slam on the ancors right to the floor. I have occationally got it to kick in when braking progressively in the rain and going over a pothole... but in normal conditions, wet or dry... as long as its progressive and you feel what happing through the car, it shouldnt need to kick in. Although... if your not used to a new car, it could prob happen quite easily.

nope, cups have better alloys (speedline turnis) it also mainly comes in a cup only colour (mondial blue) but there is a limited run of silver ones too

the cup comes in mondial blue only, with turinis, and a cloth interior like a 1.2 dynamique.
it has a single cd player, and no air-con.

no, the 172 only come in monaco blue (a dark royal blue) closest colour to mondial is a colour called artic blue, but that is 182 only

right my budget, got two cars to sale one of which is a valver, so i would probably have around 6k dependale sales going the right away on top of my savings so yeh 6k top end

You'll have to buy a 172 Cup with A/C (very rare) and then buy the Leather seats to put in afterwards.

You'll get a cup for that, but doubt you'll find one with A/C for that money.
