16's or 17's

Thinking of some new 17's for my Black 172,

Sixteens to go!?
Seventeens for show!?

I have the factory fit 195/45 R16's which i'm happy with, ride is firm already as I'm on a -40mm Apex spring drop.

i just like the look of 17's

But I'm interested in the implications

if I go to 17's there must be a diiference in outer diameter

what if any difference will 205/40 R17's have on the ride, speedo reading, acceleration, mph etc?

Are they worth the change or do I just stick 4 new tryes on the 16's?

i agree 17" look better but i stuck with 16". rather improve the handling than the looks [superleggeras, lighter and wider track]
