16v cutting out - update!

my car was occasionally having a mardy and cutting out when the revs dropped and have a low idle. if i let it idle for a bit it would sort itself out then it would be fine for weeks.

Then it did it, but never sorted itself out. did it all the time! so i:

- cleaned iscv
- changed speedo cable/road speed sensor
- and gave it all a good clean with carb cleaner!

was a bit better but still did it!

Just now iv replaced:

- iscv
- potentiometer
- throttle body

it idled quite high for a bit, then i went for a drive and it was fine, but then it stalled again about 3 times out of 5!

once fully warm it was spot on, didnt stall at all, but idled slightly too high for a few seconds! i pulled up and let it idle and the revs slowly dropped to about 700-800 as before!

im off to buy a new lambda sensor to try but anything else? coolant sensor?

Also since its been playing up it refuses to pop and bang as it did before! underfuelling maybe?

did you set up the idle valve as stated in 5turbo/willys post/topic?

Do you have a power boost valve? Ive had the same probs as you and since removal its far better (although still idles slightly low momentarily after a thrashing)

changed fuel filter. i do have a pbv yes.

not sure about setting the valve up, il have a look at the other topic.
