16v dash colour change

Thinking about losing the orange and changing to green. Anyone done anything simular? Easy to do? I presume I need green LEDs and to remove the orange film behind the dials (if there is one)??? what sort of effect will it have onf the temp gauge in the middle? Is that just lit with Leds too???

Any help appreciated....

Its quite hard to do as theres a chance of screwing the dials up takes time and patience. Dong the heater controls would be the easiest

Thought as much. Would look a bit cr*p with green heater dials and everything else orange tho! Have you done it maxx? any pics??

im in the process of doing it with a comprehensive guide listing materials and what to do and how many cuts on your hands you might get

(see topic dials here, not much info yet as showing a conversaion of willy/16v dials into an RT and i havent updated it at all )

there are two types of dials, sagem and vaglia, and if yours are vaglia (dunno if 16v are all sagem or not) then its relatively simple, if its sagem, then its harder but the guide should show how. does require the subtle touch though as you dont want to ruin your dials!

if youre going for green, why not get blue LEDs cos blue and orange = green?

Yes I have got ORANGE in my 16v. Wudnt mind getting WHITE, is this possible?

Hello, I am getting a little confused with this MK or PH, the car I have got is -

Renault Clio, Extreme 1.2 16v, Silver - 2005 Reg

What MK or PH is my Clio?

yes it can be done (yours is a mark 2 phase2)

need to solder some surface mount leds in there though like this(on a 2002)

the dials on a 2005 might need more/less leds but i guess the princple is the same

Thanks for the reply. I have got a trip computer on my clio, the the layout in slightly different, as I have got a digi temp and fuel gage.

Would love to change the colour from ORANGE to WHITE, think it will look nice, as I got a silver Clio...

might just try the blue+orange= green idea. just change a couple and see what it looks like! will post some pics if i get round to doin it!
