16v Immobiliser problem

Changed the battery on the 16v today but now the immobiliser light keeps flashing on ignition & the car wont start.

Any ideas on how to solve this?

do u have an aftermarket alarm/immobiliser on it? i had this problem and mine had to be towed back to the cliffard alarm place to be reset!

Its the standard Renault jobbie. Ive turned the immobiliser switch to OFF yet it still flashes
