16v vs Fiesta RS Turbo

This is a close one but on standard boost i can beat them to 60 no worries.

My mates got an awesome one; rebuild by Rusty (who built the quickest UK cossie), coilovers & in-car boost. I had him off the mark every time the other nite but on the fairest straight he had to turn his boost up to 12psi (from 7) to get ahead by less than a cars length to 60. But boy was it moving at that point! No chance from then on.

Whats your experiance with them?

Mine was 14psi but you need them set up especially for running anymore than the Standard (7psi) or you cause damage. I think the Fuelling and Timing are different. Mine at 7psi was slow at 14psi was (once on the move) around the same speed as my cousins W reg Scoob Turbo (RRd 218bhp). I have a bit of "private" dual carrageway that myself and my cousin test all the cars we owned on. At a certain marker we take a note of the speed. Its only as accurate as each speedo but here you go:

Saxo VTR: 85mph

Fiesta RS1800: 94mph

Fiesta RS Turbo: 100mph

Golf 16V MK2 Gti: 102mph

Clio Williams :107mph-so far (havent had a proper run yet due to traffic)

Chipped Fiesta RS Turbo: 110mph

W reg Subaru Impeza Turbo: 110mph

These were done coming from a junction slightly on the move and have all been done at different times & many times with each car LOL and are entirely UN-SCIENTIFICT before anyone starts to argue over them!

Oh and ive missed out my cousins westfield as I cant remember its time . I think his new 300bhp RX7 may take the Winning time off the Fiesta/Scoob when he gets it in a couple of weeks unless I can sabotage it - He He.

Looks to me that the 16v would be doin 100mph apart from the Scooby, id expect that to be moving a lot quicker!

With my mate running 12psi it was really on the move so i believe you that it could chase Scoobies on 14. Raced a Scooby twice and i must say now that i want one. Especially after last nite; one let me get away then stayed along side me till he got bored then floored it and left me looking like a 1.2 Nova!

I have never been in any other "chipped" Fiesta so mine may have been a bit special - It was certainly quicker than Me or any of my mates expected. It used to happily beat my mates Saffire Cossie 4x4 but then he got a Impreza Sti import (270 odd bhp one) which stuffed me.

There are loads of Scoobs about where I stay - I saw 8 Turbos of various types on one run to the shops today!! You can get a very good one for very little money. Ive got a morgage and a Family (Well a Rabbit and 2 Budgies) so I will be with my Wille for some time.

He blew the gasket as we were racing up a dual carrigeway up a hill, probably doing about 95-100, before that though we were evenly matched I over took him and he overtook me!

Is that Rusty as the guy who build that capir 4x4 cossie? as the one feature on j clarkson video when it beat the holden by miles?

YEAH! Sorry i meant Capri with Cossie engine in and yes it was in that video wasting anything it raced! I havent seen it but have heard about it.

We live in Oldham, his is a grey RS Turbo, i know someone whos had a Escort Cossie tuned by him too, hes got a Bently turbo in that and it does over 350bhp apperantly!
