just on my way to local motorpoint.Want a 172 or 182,but would rather have 172 coz there cheaper and i can have one sooner.Just one thing-i dont want it to be plauged by the knocking noise that evry 172 seems to have when acelerating-shud i buy the 172 or 182?

buy the 182 (see my thread bargain 182? for details)

may cost you more and you wont get one for about 6 weeks (motorpoint dont have them yet anyway)

but the price of 172 will drop like a brick now the 182 is out.(hence the £10,999 price now)

come resale time i know which will hold its price better.

besides if you get the same deal as me(y) youll save £2750 on the renault dealer and thats a couple of years depriciation saved.

I dont think its really savin on the depreciation is it?? an import will always be less than a uk car, or am I wrong??

If you want a new cars Id say wait a few weeks and get a 182. If you want to save a couple of grand Id wait until the 182 comes out then when 172 values fall buy a 172 then.

Personally Id go for a couple of grand saving with a 172

Yeah, just replied to your other post...

Honestly mate you havent mad a bad choice, I know people say the 182 will hold its value better but to be honest its luck of the draw when it comes to the buyers.

I dont mind as I know it will lose money but at 10,999 I can sell it cheaper than a 182 and it will go just as quick.

Enjoy.

yeah i realise that myself.Just debating whether to do boomerang payments or not-will have to check it out when i pick it up wednesday-uve got ures havent u? (need to change ure profile)

I have mine, If like me you get the "French" version, it doesnt have a CD changer under the seat, Where as the Uk cars do.

Changing the profile now ;)

Uk cars do not have a CD changer as standard, only as an option. About a year ago it was standard but then they dropped the price byabout £500 and put the CD Changer on the options list. As far as I am aware, the French verison does get the CD changer as standard as it was listed in the press release on the 182.

I have heard that it is an alpine unit, you should be able to buy the option from Renault though?

think changer is £300 fitted inc vat

anything like this, or fitting an aftermarket cat 1 alarm, steer clear of reno. the import brokers will probably have a reliable auto electrician nearby that they will recommend who will do the same job for a lot less!!!!

Thanks for the link, that helps a lot.

I have a mate that is manager of one of the biggest internet car audio centres in the uk so I am going to hit him for a discount, also he does CAT 2-1 alarms for the car ;)

Like I said thanks guys!.

  182

motorpoints 182 s are parallel imports i was gonna get one from there... until my mate moved from toyota to renault and now hes getting my 22% family and friend discount!!! love it!

Motorpoint dont do deals. You pay the screen price and thats it. You stand more chance of a deal if you take finance, they make a lot more out of you that way so are more likely to drop the price a little. I still doubt that however.
