172 alloys...urgent help

ok, some bloke is selling some 172 alloys on ebay..i was thinking about taking them off him till he said they will only fit my 1200 (52reg) if i buy the 172 wheel nuts.........which he just happend to be selling aswell. is this true? cant i just use the ones i got on now?​

if you've got standard steel wheel bolts at the mo, then yes he is correct. You will need alloy wheel bolts for alloys as the collars are different.

ive got the dynamique alloys on now. will the bolts off these not do>?

yes they will, solong as the bolts are the ones that came from the factory along with the alloys?

yea they are. so will the wheels just go straight on then?

yes, numerous guys on here have done it. I myself have just sold my 172 alloys off my 2002 1.2. Just fitted 182 Anthracite jobbies instead :approve:

cheers mate. just out of interest....how much did yours go for?

mine were in average condition with 'worn' tyres and I sold 4 for £150 and sold my spare, the best one for nearly £50. So around £200 all in for 5 alloys, although as I said tyres were low on 3/4 of them.
