172 and 182 1/4 mile times done

  2005 Impreza WRX STI

the reason i asked this was because i have one of those g tech performance meters and i seem to remember doing 0-60 in about 7 sec and about 15.5 sec 1/4. as i said tho im rubbish @starting! but after seeing some of the times, i bet its not far off

ye i no m8 it was a rough guide really. just seemed slow to 60! some ppl claim 5 odd secs and low 6s! and i no mine is quite fast compared to other 172s 7 sec (prob down to driver error);)

I got 5.8 0-60 with minimal mods and rears out, I would imagine a std 172 with full interior would probably be highish 6s tbh

Removing the back seat in a cup (which weighs f**k all) is hardly comparable to stripping a car back to the metal, removing standard seats and running with one bucket seat. If I did this id be in the 13s.

Thing is your quick to dismiss the Mk1 times, I could find a quote but I cant be arsed about you saying the Mk1 boys only get good times due to being stripped, as far as I know, there is only Martin of the NW Mk1 Clios that does this, all the rest, 2live, Mehdi, Me, Northy, Andy, etc... have the backs out like you.

Im not getting at you, just wanted you to know the facts for a change. Take care ;)

Going down south to get some work done on the car, will try and plan it round a day at the pod if you want your ass handed to you...:p

careful mate... Rob got a 14.01 with just cams... hes the man to beat imo...

where you taking in Neil... down south could be North England for you! lol

To be fair the 0-60 on that printout is good but the 1/4 mile time is pretty much standard.
Yup, even my shabby old GTi-6 can pull 15.0s so that aint anything special.

Jesus, 98mph terminal is high for a 14.8 run!?

93 sounds more appropriate..

i did a 14.701 @ 94.69mph in my 106

just hoping i can get a decent run and match that in the 182..

Just checked the slip..

It was @ 96mph.. my bad, and I really couldnt care less if you believed it or not.

I dont mean that in a nasty way.. I just really couldnt care if it was 14.8 or otherwise.

Practice will actually make a lot of difference... its all in the start...

First time I ran my Cup at Santa Pod was USC 2 years ago, it was about 3 weeks old with 1200 miles on the clock, standard, not stripped, camping gear & coolbox in the boot and got 15.0secs

Mods done: superchip, bmc cda, full zorst and de-cat

Cheers
