172 BACK BOX REMOVAL AND FITTING

Anyone any tips as i'm away to change my backbox tomorrow back to standard until i get a decent stainless one

As the one i have is a joke (fitted by previous owner) :dapprove: :dapprove:

What kind of exhaust paste should i use on it at the join where clamp is ?

And should i apply it to inside of backbox pipe ?

Also what diameter is the standard back box to check i've been given right one ?

2.5" ? ?

Also i'll need to get a new exhaust clamp as the one on its rusted solid, i'm gonna try and shear or cut off nuts

I've had standard backbox a while and only now have i pulled my finger out and thought i'll have to change it

just hacksaw the clamp off thats rusted on...

..exhaust paste between the middle section and the cat... get it from halfrauds its all pretty much the same iirc

Been looking on net and the last owner had forked out about 300 odd quid on my horrid twin exhaust setup :dapprove:
