172 brake fluid capacity and DOT used?

I'm overhauling the brakes on the bullet next week and will be replacing the brake fluid as part of the job as the pedal is becoming rather mushy.

I seem to have the figure of 4.8l capacity in my mind and DOT 4 fluid, is this correct?

No, it is 1 litre with ABS and 0.7 litre without. DOT 4, yes.

What a dick, I was thinking of oil capacity at the same time, is that 4.8l?

No 4.75L, 5.1 including filter..
