172 Brakes - pads or disks shafted

Ive only owned my 172 for 8000 miles (and what an 8000 miles Ive had!) anyway the brakes dont work half as well as they did when it was brand new. Pads seem to have quite a bit of tread on them still... Have I shafted my disks??? n e 1 else have sh*t brakes on their 172??

The brakes are one of the stronger components on a 172. Have you checked your fluid?

I doubt youve shafted the discs, they are hardy bits of kit. Ive done 28k of haaaaard driving!! and mine are fine.

You could possibly have glazed the pads or something, if not - havent got a clue - see Renault!

As suggested above - low fluid level - could indicate an underlying problem, as it should remain at a constant level.

strip down all the brakes and clean up all the pad surfaces etc.
