172 bumper on dynamique wings

  80MPG BEEZA
right few guys on here have said sport bumper wud be better and i'm thinking of making the change! i have found a front bumper but cant find the wings anywere, i even found specialist breakers (matt black) and they dont have any wings or front bumpers in, what work is needed to fit the front bumper to the dynamique arches? anyone got pics of people that have done it?

cheers

i was under the impression the 172 bumper is wider, and the arches are flared more, so there will be abig gap, unless you can bend out the orginal wings to suit??

if the wings are £40 each i may get new wings so its less hassle! less work for bodyshop to do so they may spray for the same price as i'd flog my old bumper! carbon splitter aswell me thinks :)

mate, just done this myself. i have a blue car and came out like this with the addition of some sealant to hide the gap . . . .

had to sand down the side parts of the front bumper but its not bad at all.

Immi (dutty) and Has have done theirs as well

Immis looks the dogs, Has' has been fully remoulded so is a perffect fit.

this look good mine will show up even less with my car being black! which parts have you had to sand down? i'm guessing it may be the top side parts where the bumper clips into the wing? and by how much?

I reckon you would need to alter the wheel arch flare section of the bumper. If you look at the pic's above, the 172 bumper runs horizontally right to the point at the edge of the arch. The non-RS wing has what appears to be a 5-10 degree angle as the bumper forms the arch flare. Looking at the pictures, if you could match this angle, I reckon you could erradicate 95% of the gap seen above.

Da

  Less
wings are £60~ each from renault without the arch liners, if you add the wings you will need the skirts to match as the bottom of the wing marries up with the start of the skirt.

so try and space the arch out? so it sticks a little further out? i'm actually starting to think his sanded the edge that slots into the wing so it goes in further

i already have skirts on mine but on the k-tec site it says that the kit fits all clios but the front bumper requires modding so i've taken a look and i think i'll be able to fit the 172 wings so front bumper fits and keep my skirts, just an extra £120 is starting to bump up the price

i imagine with a bit of bodgery i'll get it to fit just sick really with the current front bumper cracked it for the 2nd time its low but it just sticks out i just dont want to look like a normal clio, me thinks a sport front bumper with the splitter, black air ducts where fogs are with my carbon bonnet the front end shud look neater

that looks spot on mate, did you have to sand anything down? or fasten anything in with screws? my current bumper i had to screw each side into the wing as the very poit of it would poke out, cant wait it should look awesome!

loads of people have bought the front bumper with the intention of doing it, and then given up when they've gone to fit it.

PM me if you fancy, or PM Has for advice.

Immis looks the best for no wrk done, Has' is just awsome, but cost him SOME money!!

You just need to do it slowly fella, take your time and get it down mm by mm. you need to sand down the side parts that slot into the arches as they stick out (where the bolts hold it in place), and also the actually bumper on show where it meets the arch, just measure the angle that it descends with the wing and sand down according ly, dont be afraid to use some marker as they rub off paint.

thats the only reason i did mine, was in my colour on ebay for 125 quid, not bad for fully new sprayed bumper in tip top condition :D:D

guy i picked it up off said that his dad, uncle and local car mechanic tried and failed so was selling it . . . . took me half an hour . . . .. .

will look like a serious dark devil :D:D

i dont mind the look of the front end just it sticks out quite far and my car is seriously low and i've managed to crack the bumper again (second time now) and it cost me £150 for paint and £40 for mesh last time i had it fixed so to get it done again would be the same, now i can get a front rs bumper all grilles and carbon splitter for £300 then painted for £100 and i know its not going to crack like fiberglass,

i'm really happy with the bk bumper and skirts its just the front bumper it looks good from a distance but nearer it doesnt look as good which is not paint quality just the shape and the mesh + i cant fit a tow eye with the bumper on and if the car breaks down i have to completely remove the front bumper to tow it! (bumper is in the way of eye not mesh)

now i have a cup spoiler and i'm booked in to have it sprayed along with side strips and handles and for the front bumper to be done but obv i've changed my mind, i really want the exterior to be "finished" after messing around with it for 2 years i just wanna be done and get onto tuning it

what do you guys think? back bumper stays along with new cup spoiler and new "yozzasport" plates i'm waiting on being delivered :), colour coding and the rs bumper with mods i mentioned earlier + black indicators and 1.2 badges? couold i finally call it finished?

i'd change the front bumper and see how it looks before spending more money. as im not sure how the sides / back bumper would go with the RS front.

and they're never ever finished :dapprove:

and they're never ever finished :dapprove:

true that :S

the whole car looks quite square and wide, which i dont mind, but i think that the RS bumper might be a little too, dare i say it, plain, in comparison to the rest. . . . and i think the wheels look almost too small as well

im not dissing your car mate, liking the dark look like i said, just some hopefully helpful opinions :)

Has

  RS 182 - Black Gold
Has' is the only only i've seen thats been done properly, but it cost him £500ish to have done

Dont remind me LoL :dapprove:

But yer it can be a pain in the ass!

Dont forget, if ur cutting and sanding down etc..... When you re-attatch the bumper its going to be under more pressure.

Especially when the front flexes SO much on these clios.

You may start to get bulging on the wings or the side may snap off if under to much pressure.

Has

  RS 182 - Black Gold
Fully fixed to origional mounts
Re-moulded so there is no crease in bumper
Smoothed and blended into origional wings

yea but how much did he pay for that?

and fred the more money it costs me to finish the less money yozzasport is gonna get!

and.1 the wheels look mint yea they dont look huge but they are 15's and the car is soooo much better with them on

and.2 i've seen a clio on here a blue one with same bk bumper and skirts with rs front bumper and it looked good i'm hoping by chaging the fogs to intakes, spraying the badge black and andding a carbon splitter it'll fit more into the rest of the car, i keep standing back trying to imagine but its to hard i'll have to wait and see
