i did my side strips and door handles shortly after I bought the car a few years ago. refreshed them last month tho as they were looking a little dull from the first time tbh. still have the standard front and rear bumpers with the original plastics which just looks odd imo compared to the sides of the car. I have some MK2 PH3 front bumper inserts ready to be colour coded but I really don't think I can be arsed with them. they've been in the back now for the best part of 2 years!
get some pics up soon pal and i may just find the motivation to carry on with my own car haha!
Wow looks good... I like you are kinda in the same boat although im not refurbing any bumpers more... Respraying
Ive resprayed the front end of my car (Bumper, wings, that piece under the bonnet) and the back (Rear bumper and boot lid (from debadging) ) got side skirts and wing to go
Still on with this guys, sanded and re lacquered the bit that broke through and it looks good again. Tried fitting it earlier but one of the nuts holding on the old bumper is just turning and not coming out so I gave up.
A close friend died last Friday and its hit me very hard so my head has been else where tbh and not been in the mood. Funeral is on Wednesday and I am working at weekend. I'll get round to it asap.
Yes I have enjoyed doing it. It was a great challenge for me seeing as I have only ever sprayed dash strips before.
I don't think it has turned out to bad and I am quite pleased with myself
i found that most lacquer cans dont give much of a shine so i bought some 2k professional lacquer off ebay and worked really well. but only ever done small bits.
