172 buying

Went to my local renault dealers today to see what stock he had for 172s and to have a shufty around one. was having a bit of a chat with a dealer about an 02 he had in stock 12k miles and he wanted £11.5K for it, i thought this was a bit expensive so i told him i had found 03 cars in autotrader for the same money and he said that these were imports, is there any danger in buying an import? Does the warrenty still get honoured in this country? he said it didnt but im sure it does what are the differences with an import and a uk car?

Do a search using the search button at the top, theres lots on here about imports and warrenty...

All cars are imports from France, as long as its from the EU it will be the same spec as sold by UK dealerships apart from the alarm, it wont have one.

All imports have the same 3 years warrenty

Id suggest u just do a search on this.. its been covered lots!

I had a import 172, major difference is that it will only come with a immobilizer and not a CAT1 alarm like UK models.

Also with regards to the warranty i think if its from the EU you can get the full 3years from renault UK but u have to write to them for it... check the previous posts and u will find lots about it
