172 Clio Sport

First of all, hello to all! i am a new member here, i found the site on google when trying to find out information about the 172 clio sport.

I am looking at purchasing a 172 clio sport for around £2700 max. and my question is can i get a decent one for this price?

also, what are the problem areas i should i look out for when buying?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

that sort of money shoul get you a nice example 172 mate.

Check the timing belt and alternator belt has been done, with recipts too prove.
2nd,3rd can be crunchy if the gearbox has had a bit of a hard time.

And then just the usual stuff like every other car then.

yep as said you should get a good one for that, but bear in mind there's plenty of rubbish about so be prepared to be disappointed before you buy the right one. I saw five, 2 were on the insurance register, 2 that were at dealers were rubbish and the fifth I bought. I must have spent close on for £100 in fuel while looking for a good one..

where abouts are you? do you want a black one....mine's going soon.

ah great! i wasn't sure if i would get anything decent for that price! i have been looking through the forums, and i was looking at the ph2 clio.
im in the midlands mate, i'm studying in derby but am originally from northamptonshire, but i am willing to travel for a good one.

a black one would be great, how come your getting rid of yours?

we've recently bought a caravan (ssssshhhhh don't tell anyone :dapprove and the missus has only got a Fiat 500. So mine will be going anytime before easter, hopefully to be replaced with a 330i Touring..

what sort of milage should i look at? above what sort of milage car should i avoid?

I don't think mileage affects them much as long as they are serviced correctly, it just affects the price...
