172 CRASHED INTO NOT HAPPY

Sorry to hear about the accident.

I think a new boot floor will be in order...question is how much it will cost.

I think that because it wasn't your fault the Corsa guy's insurance have to return yours to the condition it was in - it won't be written off. (Within reason obviously, if the chassis was badly bent etc thay must be able to leave it if it can't be repaired.)

If it had been your fault, your insurance may well have written it off, but I think you'll be fine.

The boot floor's designed to do that to protect the passenger compartment, it can be replaced and be as good as new. You ought to be able to choose who does the work too.

edit: Look into one of those accident management companies too, they take their money from the other party and can give you a like for like car while it gets repaired.

That's just one, plenty on Google. Costs you nothing.

Like Ad and 172cupwizard said, I think it's repairable. The boot floor isn't major structure and can be replaced. I had a little crumple in the boot floor in my clio and didn't even repair it. Rneault said it was safe. It passed two MoT's with it. If they said it wasn't safe I obviously would have had it fixed, but wasn't visble unless looking under the mat and was only minor.

...and with regard to gr172 talking about where to take it. I personally would put it into an official Renault body repair specialist.

I had a crash in my old megane. Work was done to a great standard by Renault Bodymatters in wolverhampton.

Agreed, and ADR repairers are very good also as they use all OEM parts and paint! :)

whats the damage on the front?? arent 172 front bumpers pretty expensive??

Shitter, always pays to leave a good gap to the car infront, then if you do get rear ended, you wont plough into the car infront. Because of this, you will now have a claim for the v6 driver :(

see wat your saying mate but when a car ging 30-40mph without braking it gives you a good old push been on phone to the clio v6 driver his quote as £4000,buggered his exhaust systemup aswell as the rear bumper and boot...

i'm sorry but if someone done that to me i couldn't be as calm as you! it's a lazy mistake on his behalf! i'd be goin OFF IT!!!!! Know it never really solves anything but punches would probably have been thrown!

hope it works out ok for you and the v6 fella.

Was the idiot in the Corsa "racing" aswell?

Good one.

Get off your high horse

Sweet jesus, talk about taking a post the wrong way! I wasn't calling anyone an idiot for racing, and yes of course I've had the occasional blast - I wouldn't drive a 172 Cup otherwise!

Calm down my son! :nono:

With regard to Black Widow, glad your ok pal. Gutted about the damage but could have been alot worse.

oh nasty and so is the v6 repair bill,

I think it will get repaired when my bf's rst turbo got arse ended by a mk3 golf gti, it done the same kind of boot floor damage as yours and it needed a rear bumper and tailgate. Also needed a new full system stainless exhaust and up-rated racing fuel pump.

It all got replaced with new items and genuine ford paint for the RS colour. That was a 1989 car happened 3 years go so you should be fine with a repair job
