172 cup / 172 exclusive

  1.6 Focus, 1.6 122S
It's a RenaultSport Clio 172.

It's NOT a 172cup.
It's NOT a 172 exclusive.

It's a CAT D as someone else as mentioned.

Should be clear enough now

Agreed, Splitter is wrong, grill is wrong and bumper has been resprayed i think. Lights upgraded and Wheels Changed. So likely front end impact at some point.

Depending on how the car drives, history etc, being a Cat D about £1000?

What are you on about the lights? Its got standard 172 xenon headlights. The lights have not been 'upgraded'

Look like grey inserts, so 182 lights, may be wrong though.

Actually It could be a Cup, as there are no washers, so it would be upgraded lights.

the only waste is me paying for club membership that i thought would be alot better then the saxo forums but it just the same.

With the absolute greatest of respect, you have bought a Cat D car (despite being an expert apparently), with the wrong grille, a resprayed bumper (no tabs), and no washer jets (prob a cup bumper) - this has been pointed out to you, & you've thrown your toys out of the pram.

In addition, as has been previously mentioned, it is NOT an exclusive, they are PH1 only and scarab green. Renault V5 error iirc.

What is it worth? A grand max.

yes its a cat d i understand this , i didnt do a check on it i just did a visual inspection and the cars paint is very clean with no sign of any repair so thats my mistake for not doing a check , its not an exclusive i also understand this , all that i have tried to say is that Renault say that it comes up as a rs10 there mechanics came out to look at it and they say they cant tell what actual model it is , i was listening to the advise that i was given at the beginning of the post but like most forums it soon turns into an argument

Of all that, the mistake you made was asking renault, 95% of the renault dealers don't know anything about their cars!
I've been asked where the 182 spare wheel is by a main dealer, had an mot failure on a megane centre exhaust mount (cat back is 1 piece, with no centre mount as standard!) I've been told my 172 doesn't exist, even when its sat in their car park.

No one here is intentionally trying to start and argument, and the majority of the forum are very knowledgable on these cars, but from where I'm sat, and I might have read into this totally wrong, from your previous posts its all come across as a little.... Bull in a china shop, for want of a better expression. You claimed to be an expert in scrapped / damaged cars, working in salvage for a living, then unknowingly bought a cat d, you asked the difference between a cup and exclusive, and were told, including being told what yours is, and the common renault v5 error, and persisted with it on an 'i know best' sort of route.

I'm not looking for an argument or a fight, just calling it how I see it

Should always do a check, school boy error

Never mind a school boy error, that's just silly not to HPI a car before buying. Without question you should HPI every car you buy in my opinion, not just because you want to know, but because insurance need to know.

Bit excessive to say every car, if you buying one to run into teh ground dont really want to spend more money HPIing it

£3 to do the basic check highlighting any finance/reported insurance loses etc.

A bargain £50 FF 172 exclusive trophy cup could turn into no car at all if it has outstanding finance.
