172 Cup, A Few Queries...

Just got a 172 Cup, but have a few little things that are bugging me.

1. I get a quiet squeeking noise around about 5k onwards, sounds like its coming from the front poassenger wheel?

2. When cornering near full lock at anythiong above 10mph i get a small knocking coming from the wheels/hubs etc.

3. The clutch biting point is up quite high, this normal? (never driven a renault before)

4. Don't have the radio code for the standard HU. Did a quick search and it looks like it'll cost me £20 odd from the dealers, any way around this?

Id say the knocking noise could be a CV point on its way out. The biting point is quite high up, so yet thats normal. radio code you needa get from dealers.

Will put my nice head on and call Renault then, any ideas who on here could help if Renault dont play ball?

A long shot but easy to look for. I had a squeak on acceleration and it turned out to be the drivers seat belt buckle moving in the housing. Like i said a long shot but worth a look

Will definatly look at that as i have some annoying rattles in the dorrs to get rid of. Does sound more wheel/engine related though.

Also my exhaust has a rasp around 3k upwards, i'm guessing its blowing somwhere around the manifold maybe?

i've a 'whistle' from the engine at over 5,000rpm that has been diagnosed as the dephaser

also a 'rattle' from the exhaust above 4,000 rpm - it's apparently likely to be loose baffles in one of the boxes and is a common problem

whereabouts are you in Glos? if you're at all local to me (Yate), you'd be welcome to come over and have a listen/compare
