Just had my car through the 72000 mile service and it seems to run like a rocket. Thats mainly down to the Ford KA I had for 4 days, but it is much improved.
Sadly the fully synth oil in the gearbox has not stopped the crunching problem
Mainly happens under hard acceleration. Not swapping cogs quickly, infact I do quite a slow change to try and minimise the crunch. but it still happens. Its Not bad like a duff gearchange and it doesnt grind through the shifter, just doesnt go in smooth.
I think this is a common prob, but would like to know if a new box is the only cure or just live with it. Im happy to drive it like that, but I do want to change it soon and think this may make a part ex the only option.
