172 Cup Limp Mode - Throttle pedal issue?

It's similar but not exactly the same on the Laguna II - There are that many connections in the wiring loom on those things it's hard to truely cure it without either replacing the wiring harness in full OR replacing the throttle pedal to ECM wiring to make it direct.

Looks like I have the same problem, I'm getting an inconsistency between tracks 1 and 2. Mick, I would come to see you but I'm down in the south east. I've checked out the connector in the fuse/relay box, the big connector under the scuttle and where I can measured continuity between the white connector (fuse box) and the ECU and haven't found anything amiss. Would you recommend hard wiring the throttle to the ECU as the only real cure? Oh, and it's had a new throttle pedal!

Well last night I decided to give myself a bit more free movement on the harness so decided to take the passenger side wheel arch out and disconnect every plug restricting the harness and check for any visual wear. Cleaned plugs up yet again with compressor and some contact cleaner this time, rebuilt.... My car is struggling to get over 2k now! Tonight I will start to strip back the harness to the ecu and try and find my fault to earth! I'm assuming with me pulling and riving the harness around that I've made full contact with the chassis somewhere! Causing the voltage to drop somewhat more and giving me problems! I served my time working for mercedes Benz Teesside, the drawings we got were not of the best spec but with these, nobody can give me a bloody drawing!!! Been out of the trade some 7 years now so this French hitler is giving me somewhat of a migraine!!!

You can buy them on eBay ;)

You gotta be kidding me!!! Been ringing round dealers and specialists and everyone has told me they ain't available for the 2.0t laguna as there was so many types of harnesses fitted from the factory :-/ I'll have a look!! Either way, I shall start to gut the harness near the battery tray tonight :-(

anybody have a fix for this. seen loads of threads but no fix !!!. im having the same problem with my 04 182. Replaced the throttle body and the problem came back for a week and now its going into limp mode every so often. The computer says its the throttle position sensor but im hesitant changing the unit if people are saying it wont do much good. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Im in manchester

Did anyone get anywhere with this ?
I'm having simular issues. I've replaced the pedal but still randomly getting the electrical fault symbol on the dash and the car won't start. Then after some time or disconnecting and reconnecting pedal it will start.
It refused to start again today after it had been raining pretty hard. Then after being left for a short time it started no problem.
Where is the block connector under the scuttle panel located, I'm wondering if it's getting damp ?

Yup sent mine to @bloke as suggested on my other thread. Had my loom , throttle pedal and throttle body replaced. Car was spot on afterwards and the hesitation and fault codes went + no more constant limpmode. If you want it sorted properly for a decent price and no f**king about id advise you to leave it with him if you can get to Wirral. Had the car in 4 different garages and nobody had the know how or could be bothered to sort it apart from him. 100% recommend him and wish i would of sent it him 1st.

Thanks for the reply. I would love to leave it with him but I couldn't be further away.
Do you know how much of the loom he replaced ?

full engine loom, have kept hold of it to actually find out what is wrong with it. lots checked out ok but started finding all sorts of random shorts but nothing wrong with throttle related stuff whatsoever. as a red herring though the throttle body that was on also turned out to be faulty but only really became apparent as a fault in itself once the loom was replaced.

even chucked another ecu as after testing everything first it looked like it was an ecu fault.

also didn't have a cruise/limiter throttle pedal on but not sure if this would of had any bearing.

Im pretty sure he said it was the interior loom and i don't live close neither. Had to leave it with him for a few nights but for the nightmare i had with limp mode for 6 months and also getting messed about and ripped off by other garages id happily trek to him and leave the car with him for a few days all over again.

Full engine loom as mentioned on the above post ^^^ EDIT

That's not what I was hoping to hear. But thanks for the quick reply. I wish you were closer.

Further update to my non starting problem.
As there had been heavy down pours of rain here recently and after hearing about the main engine harness plug under the scuttle panel issues. I decided to investigate further.
What i found was a partially blocked gutter holes and the loom was saturated.
I removed the wipers, scuttle panel, wiper motor, washer bottle and unplugged the loom. I stripped the loom rite back to bare all the cables, it was soaked and full of dirt from the main plug all the way up to the 90 degree rubber sleeve where it goes over the firewall. I've thoroughly dried and cleaned all the cabling and re-taped it and reinstalled the loom.
So far the car has been fault free. I shall keep the thread updated.

Update:
The car started to play up a week after repairing the loom under the scuttle panel.
Looking further in to the wiring there was corrosion found in the fuse box next to the battery. The relays and the white multi plug had corrosion. After cleaning with wd40, a brush and some wet and dry sand paper so far so good.

I have the same problem with my 182, debating whether to bother taking it to Renault or not. 9 faults found on a diagnostics. Main one being the pedal predomitry or whatever it is. Checked every fuse. Had throttle position adjusted, been advised to get a new battery. Still suspected to be dodgey wiring. How much am I looking at to have entire wiring replaced? Just hoping I don’t need to replace all wiring and ecu.
