172 Cup lowering.

Car  Fiesta ST-3
Just intrested in what setup people have out there?

Im looking for a small drop just to fill the arches a little better. I had a set of coilovers on my Megane but if there are good enough spring setups then i may consider just that.

Oh and is the 172 torsion bar or springs on the rear? As the coupe was a torsion bar.

Cheers Scott

I personally wouldn't buy any coilovers that are sub £600/700 region. I know a few on here rate the eibach springs even with standard shocks although some may recommend some uprated shocks to match. At the very least I'd put a set of new standard shocks all round on if they've never been changed as they'll be getting tired/worn by now on a car the age of a cup.

Not that I've first hand experience of tbh. I've only driven 1*2's with either just spring kits on standard shocks or coilover kits.

One last question buddy what seems to be the good average height to get the arches filled abit more? 35-40 mil?

Koni adjustables with either prolines (slight drop, about 10mm on a Cup) or Sportlines, for a 20mm drop on a Cup. :)

This was mine on sporlines, note how it make the front sit a bit more nose down, better imo. Really good spring imo

Coilovers are we talking about? Sorry for my ignorance.

Sorry no, just on the Eibach sportline springs there :) Koni's being the shocks,.....

Got the sportlines on mine and about to get the Koni shocks all round as i didnt want to buy cheap coilovers. Not a massive drop but i prefer the handling over standard springs

A good £5-600 iirc! Get what you pay for really. I'm running Billstein B14 Coilovers a the mo,(circa £900 ish) but its running at the height the Sportlines give (so about -20mm). If the Clio is used as a B road hack, lowering too much will upset it big time.
