172 cup mangement light

hi looking at a clio 172 cup on ebay that is cheap cause engine mangement light has come on what do reckon stay clear or take a gamble:rasp:

Buy a fault reader from ktec for 35 quid and read the fault when you go to look at it.

Then decide.

Is it the engine light in the centre display or the engine light (emmision light) on the right hand side of the instrument panel, if the latter then not too important, the car is safe to drive. If the former then will be a fault in the ignition system, low oil and things like that.

cheers guys but ive decided to buy a 172 cup that hopefully is sound getting her home on thursday might even take her to knockhill this sunday for blast

i bought a 172 cup recently with engine light (emission one) on. looks like one of the wires to the lambda sensor needs sorting out. car runs fine at the moment so no rush to sort it out.
