172 Cup owner saying hello

Hi,
Just brought a 172 cup and was wondering if anyone here has done any sprinting in one.
We have entered it in the sprint at Castle Combe in March. All our previous experience has been in a MX-5 so it is all a bit different!
On the MX we used to run Yokohama AO-48's and would like to do the same with the Clio, the only problem is the sizes. We've got a spare set of stock wheels. The closest to the stock size I can get is a 195/50/16 instead of a 195/45/16. I know this will increase the diametre by about 16mm and that's not what I want to do, but there aren't any alternatives. The Toyo 888's are the same 195/50/16 size as well.
Has anyone run the bigger tyre? I think it will fit the car ok, but was wondering if it will upset the handling at all.
Any advice will be much appreciated!
Thanks
Jim

Welcome.

Can't help with the tyre aspect other than to say those who do regular track days / compete generally run PH1 clio 15" OZ F1 alloys on 195/50/15 tyres.

Welcome mate

As said above get a set of 15 alloys off a ph1 172. Tyres are cheaper with mores options and I preferred the handling of mine on the smaller wheels
