172 Cup Throttle response

my newish Cup suffers from a noticeable amount of apparent freeplay on the accelorator pedal ie.your first bit of stuffing your boot down does virtually nothing! This more noticeable when cold, but is a problem even when hot as you cant get the power on quick enough to fire it out of tight bends with any confidence. Had it looked at by supplying dealer who told me it was my imagination and showed me computor printouts to prove it is ok, which it isnt.

Consulted another dealer who said loads of unhappy punters with this complaint and they had discussed it with Renault Tech dept who said no fix possible so just put up with it.

So is it a problemwhich 172 owners put up with or is it just my car or my imagination?

I asked R-sport about this and they recommended their ECU but couldnt guarantee it would sort this problem.

I bought the car with view to using it for road-rallying which needs absolutely instant throttle response so ive got to fix it or sell it!

Any info much appreciated, particularly from R-sport ECU owners.

I have heard tell from my local dealer that theyve had a few which have suffered the same thing, and theyve changed them over to a cable throttle (I guess using the mk1 throttle body) - maybe have a word with your guys about this as a possibility

Mines the other way round...

The slightest touch and youre off, so its really tight & responsive, so took a bit of getting used to!

I know that the R-Sport ECU does sharpen the throttle response, but I think this is more of a signal from pedal to ECU type problem. Get them to swap the TPS on the pedal.
