172 Cup top end clonk

Had a 172 cup for 2 months now,seems too have very slight clonk from middle of front cam,goes when reved.Anyone????:S Are high lift cams noisy,also has GDI Tuning sticker on inlet manifold.

sounds like dephaser

does it sound like a diesel at idle?

The sound seems to be coming from middle of cam,only does it when warm and tick over too 1700rpm Dont sound like diesal,sounds as though noisy front cam.

over 1700 or below?

below 1700 rpm middle of cam as if dry follower,tickover is about 750 and lumpy. New too renault

And you'd say it's a "clonking" rather than a "tapping"?!

tickover sounds about right 2me same as mine and there all lumpy m8

90% chance its the dephaser

Can i still drive with noisy dephaser pulley?

Yeah its just noisy, although im sure mine is that bad its causing me flat spots!

Its actually noisy all the time,especially on over-run

Dephaser is pain in the back side but once done should be good for a while. Just had mine done plus full cambelt kit.
